#0106 Down In DUMBO
This is a cloudy day view of my neighborhood in Brooklyn. What I tried to do with this painting was not to make the point of interest the objects themselves but the space between the objects and how one moves physically and psychologically through this space. The heavy walled structures give a canyon effect and I tried to accentuate this effect by not giving any one building a predominance of interest over the other buildings. For me a successful painting is not just in the execution of objects but how one perceives the space between the objects. Size: 5'x 5'
