#0113 Reflections on a Still Life
The idea for the painting was to set up the structure of the work based on the two height levels of the tables and the intersection of those unequal levels by the strong vertical window frames. The window was intriguing since, as it was a night painting, the window would reflect back the scene and give the effect of a deeper space. I gave the scene a single light source coming in from the left and then went about filling the space with objects that I hoped would create an interesting composition. I undertake to not only paint the objects but to understand the space between the objects. Size: 5'x 5'
