#0116 World Trade Center, September 8th, 2001
Click here for information on ordering poster. This is a late afternoon painting begun in early July and finished in the first week of September. Who could have realized that three days after completion most of these buildings would cease to exist. The idea of the painting was to capture what I consider to be a type of musical rhythm created by the different heights, widths, and colors of the skyscrapers. I purposely left out any ground so the buildings themselves would be the dominant element. Though you could make the argument that the treetops perform as a certain type of ground. I tried to enter the silent dialogue being spoken between the buildings and the positive and negative shapes being created. Size: 5'x 5'
