This is a night view from my studio overlooking lower Manhattan. This used to be a perfect view of the World Trade Center since they used to be next to the Brooklyn Bridge from this vantage point. After I had composed the painting I realized that the picture makes reference to the American flag. The lights in the buildings echo the stars on a blue background. The pipes represent the stripes and the predominate colors of the painting are white and blue with a touch of red in the bottom right corner.
